Oil massage
In Ayurveda oil massage is called “Abhyanga”. It is considered as a whole-body massage that involves the touch of healing hands with warm natural herbal oils and Ayurvedic herbs to improve the circulation and detoxification of the body. Utilizing techniques are based on traditional Ayurvedic principles of the Tri-Doshas which is Vata, Pitta, Kapha and the formation of seven tissues (dhathus), plasma (rasa), blood (raktha), muscles (mamsa), fat (medha), bone tissues (asthi), bone marrow (majja) and semen/egg (sukra).
Ayurvedic massage addresses imbalances within the body and works to bring a person’s Dosha back into its original state. The benefits of Abhyanga massage are enhanced with each session and is traditionally administered in sets of 4, 5 and 9 sessions, which can be done daily, weekly or monthly.
